Four seed associations, namely, Seed Association of India (SAI), Association of Seed Industry (ASI), Indian Seed Industry Association (INSIA), and All India Crop Biotechnology Association joined hands together and formed National Seed Association of India (NSAI) in May, 2007. NSAI was registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. The concerns of the seed industry can now be voiced effectively before the stakeholders.
NSAI is committed to promote:
  1. The interests of sustainable agriculture.
  2. The welfare and economic prosperity of the Indian farmer.
  3. The issues affecting the seed industry.
  4. NSAI will also promote harmonization and adoption of best commercial practices in production, processing, quality control and distribution of seeds.
